Sarah Wallis is a qualified Medical Herbalist, Clinical Psychologist and Cognitive Analytic Therapy Practitioner.
Sarah offers both herbal consultations and Short Term Holistic Psychotherapy, a focused package of seven sessions that brings together herbal medicine and psychological therapy. This work is informed by Cognitive Analytic Therapy (CAT), a collaborative and compassionate therapeutic model that explores how past experiences and current circumstances can shape the difficulties you are facing today.
You may benefit from this work if you are
- stuck in repeating patterns or habits that limit your health
- feeling burnt out or exhausted from chronic stress
- experiencing health anxiety
- going through a challenging life transition
Short-term psychotherapy is not appropriate for everyone. If you have a severe, chronic, or complex mental health condition – for example, chronic depression, a history of complex trauma, or complex emotional needs – longer-term therapy is indicated. Short-term work is also not appropriate if you are currently having thoughts of harming yourself or ending your life; if that is the case, please contact your GP, NHS 111, or the Samaritans (116 123) for support better suited to your needs.
What to expect
Free initial phone call (10 minutes) to explore whether this approach is right for you
Session 1 – Initial Psychological Assessment (90 mins)
A space to explore what support you are looking for and whether this feels like the right approach for you at this time.
Session 2 – Holistic Health Assessment ( 90 mins)
A full health assessment to help understand your health and wellbeing more broadly and create a personalised herbal prescription.
Sessions 3–6 – Recognising and changing patterns (50 mins per session)
This phase of therapy involves identifying recurring emotional or relational patterns that may be keeping you stuck and creating a shared visual map of these patterns, helping you recognise old cycles with greater clarity and begin finding new ways forward.
The aim is to support sustainable change, greater self-understanding, and a more compassionate relationship with yourself.
Session 7 – Final Health Review
This review is to check how you are getting on with the herbal medicine and adjust the treatment plan if necessary. Further follow up appointments for herbal medicine can be booked as required.
Sessions are typically weekly, but fortnightly sessions can be negotiated.
Sarah is available on Thursdays for face-to-face appointments.
