My massage is a journey into profound relaxation and an opportunity to experience yourself content, whole and soothed. I work sensitively and with precision to unravel all knots and strains that could be contributing to pain, stress and injuries. A massage therapy session with me can include holistic massage, Indian head massage or a combination of both. Either way, I always massage in harmony with you and with the focused intention of restoring and renewing you into your natural balance.

How can massage help?

Massage benefits your health and wellbeing on many levels through its influence on the nervous system and physiological processes of the body. During a massage, when we feel safe and supported, we are able to let go and the nervous system triggers relaxation throughout mind and body. In this state, there is great potential for healing. Massage can help with anxiety, depression, headaches, insomnia, musculoskeletal problems and pain among other conditions.

What is holistic massage?

Being a holistic therapist means that I work with you as a person - not a list of symptoms – and with an understanding that the different areas of the body, our thoughts and feelings are all interconnected.

A holistic massage is unclothed, and I work with oil, which further nourishes your skin. It involves sweeping strokes balanced with more focused pressure, passive joint manipulation, stretching and percussion. I vary the techniques and pressure in response to your needs and guided by you. Your massage time can be dedicated to specific areas needing attention or a full body massage. A holistic massage is a powerful way to embed yourself into your body and physical experience, bringing peace and ease to your movements and mind.

What is Indian head massage?

An Indian head massage is seated in a chair and clothed. It focuses on the upper body, involving the arms, shoulders, neck, head and face. As a technique and tradition, it has been practised in India over thousands of years as part of the Ayurvedic approach to health and longevity.

Indian head massage is an enlivening way to effectively release mental and emotional tension. It combines vigorous movements with subtler techniques and gentle pressure points, that improve circulation to the head and loosen any tightness around the scalp, neck and jaw. This loosening ripples and echoes throughout the rest of the body, resulting in stillness and clarity.

What to expect

Each session will begin with a discussion about your health needs to tailor the massage uniquely to you. For an hour session, the massage will be approximately 45 minutes to allow time for the consultation, for you to get changed, give feedback and ask any questions. The cost is £40 per hour and longer sessions are available. It is always a good idea to drink plenty of water following a massage and it is ideal to not have to rush about – enjoy the bliss that this deep and beautiful work brings.
