Jenny Vale Massage Therapy.

How can massage help?

I see massage as a crucial self care tool, and an amazing gift we can use to nourish and heal ourselves on a number of levels. I bring a high level of care and empathy to my treatments, and create a safe, inclusive, nurturing space for clients to take time out and reconnect to their body.

Our modern lives can be busy and everyday actions such as using a laptop, phones and driving often lead to recurring tensions. These can build up over time, leading to stiffness, pain and lack of free movement. Massage helps break down areas of muscular tension, providing relief from aches and pains. During my consultation I encourage clients to explore and connect with the root causes of bodily tension, and gain a sense of empowerment with this process.

Stress is also prevalent, and its negative effects can be both physical and psychological. Massage activates the parasympathetic nervous system, encouraging clients to enter a deeply relaxed state, where they are able to release and be fully present in their body. This has numerous benefits for mental well-being, and can help with low mood, anxiety and depression.

I offer Holistic/ Relaxation or Holistic/Deep Tissue Massage. I also offer Womb Healing Massage.

What is Holistic massage?

As a Holistic Massage Therapist, I see each client as an individual and take the time to tailor a unique massage. No two people are the same, so no two massages are ever the same. I aim to treat the whole person, and strive to understand our vast interconnectedness.

I work directly on the skin with sweet almond oil (non nut based oils also available) I can either provide a full body massage, or work in a more focused way to address areas in need of attention such as the back.

My massage style is intuitive and fluid. Massages are a blend of long flowing strokes and more targeted work. I may use percussion, rocking and passive joint mobilisation.

I have done further training in Deep Tissue Massage, so can also combine Holistic massage with deep tissue techniques if requested.

This can help the body in a number of ways including;

  • Decreased muscle tension
  • Boost blood flow/circulation
  • Boost blood oxygen levels
  • Improved sleep
  • Recovery from injuries
  • Improved flow and drainage of lymphatic system

The benefits of massage build over time, so regular treatments can help us feel more comfortable in our bodies, as well as bolster feelings of calm and helping with resilience to stress.

Client feedback - “Jenny’s massages have a comforting, seamless and effortless flow whilst seeking and working out any unexpected niggles with a skilled and tender touch. I always leave my treatment feeling delightfully gooey and rested” - J

What is Reiki?

Reiki is an energy healing system founded in the early 1900's by a Buddhist scholar named Mikao Usui. The direct translation from Japanese is Universal Spiritual Energy. Reiki functions on the principle that we all have an energy body in addition to our physical body. Our energy body is formed of higher finer vibrations and co-exists/interacts with our physical body. Blockages in our energy body can manifest as physical pain/tension, emotional imbalances and illness.

During a Reiki session, I connect to the universal energy, and place my hands on the client to channel it. This can focus on chakra points/energy channels or areas of tension. Clients usually experience a sense of deep peace and relaxation during the treatment.

Through the influx of energy, blockages can be loosened and ultimately dissolved. As a result of this the client can feel lighter, and more balanced/energised. Many clients report entering a meditative state during Reiki, and may experience insights during the session, or afterwards in vivid dreams.

I can either provide a full Reiki session, or blend it into a massage treatment. Including 15 minutes of Reiki after massage can be fantastic, as the client is in a relaxed receptive state to receive it.

I can also incorporate some sound healing, in the form of Himalayan bowls. Their powerful healing frequencies and resonance can enhance the experience further.

Client feedback – “I felt myself drop into a theta brainwave state and a deep pool of relaxation...when you placed the sound bowl on me the final time, I felt it fully for the first time, it was like the Reiki energy had broken down any resistance to healing, wow!” - K

What is Womb Healing Massage?

Womb healing massage is a gentle, non invasive treatment, that assists the womb to heal on every level. A flowing massage is combined with energy work, and concluded with shawl wrapping and meditation with Himalayan bowls.

It can provide support with menopausal symptoms, and menstrual problems such as endometriosis, PCOS and irregular periods. It is also suitable for those who have experienced loss, trauma or grief, or for those feeling disconnected from their womb space and who wish to step back into their true power.

Anyone with a womb space may benefit from womb healing massage, no matter how they identify. I am also happy to work with trans women, who may feel they have an energetic womb space.

I aim to provide womb healing, inner calm, connection and balance. This provides a safe place to truly connect with mind, body and spirit.

Initial sessions are 90 minutes, as the consultation form takes a while to go through. Follow up sessions can be 1 hour. I offer a package of 3 sessions for 120. Please get in touch if you would like to have a chat before booking.

Client feedback- “Overall the massage felt like it went really deep and was transformative in a holistic way. Jenny started by tending to my chronic back pain which felt really relieving instantly and helped me relax into the space. Then as the massage moved to my womb area it felt really sensitive but safe at the same time, and it was reassuring to have had the consultation beforehand. It felt holistic tending to all areas around the womb from all sides and felt intuitively good even though it was unfamiliar sensations.

As the massage progressed I felt more and more relaxed and like i was on a sort of journey, and felt curious to connect more with my womb area. I was so relaxed by the end of it and felt really touched. The next day my period came on the 28th day which is extremely rare for me!” - S

What to expect

Once you have made your booking, I email my consultation form. It includes questions about your health and what you would like out of the massage, so I can tailor it uniquely to you. You can either fill it in and send it back to me, or we can go through it at the start of the session. Each hour long session will involve a 45 minute treatment, with time to go through the consultation form, and space to get on and off the table, drink some water and give any feedback/ask questions.
